About

This blog is an offshoot (side project, if you will) of BED (Biking, Eating, Drinking) Tours.

The Goal:
To put together and devise visits to breweries and brew pubs that can be reached by hoping on and off a train lines in a pub crawl style.

Secondary Ideas:
Other bits and pieces to be included with be some information on the area's beer history, current beer culture, and anything else of interest that might come up as part of the brewery crawls via train.

Considerations:
The order, timing, exact breweries visited, and all that are yours to switch around and see what works best. Some of the brewpubs do not open until after 4pm, some of the breweries are only open during the day, and tours might only be on Saturdays. These are all points to consider and depending on what is more important to you, will determine how you do the crawl. As long as you have fun and enjoy good beer, it will be a success.

Notes on Feasibility:
Not all the tours will be possible in a single day or monetarily worth the effort. This will largely be the case for brewery crawls involving Amtrak, as the trains do not run with enough frequency and can be cost prohibitive when used in a "hop-on hop-off" method.

All aboard for beer!
